It’s old news that men and women are wired differently. The only way for a man to know what NOT to do is to be told by someone on the inside, a Woman. The Gift Girl Don’ts help you avoid some of the common mistakes men make when giving Gifts.
Don’t listen to her when she says “Don’t get me anything” or “I don’t really want anything.” She is lying. She really wants you to surprise her with something fabulous.
Don’t buy her a pair of jeans. That is a battle every women needs to fight on her own.
If you wait until the last minute, Don’t just “fill the box”. Try to put some thought into it.
Don’t get her an appliance as a central gift. It can make a fun addition, only if it reflects her interests or a self professed guilty pleasure – like an ice cream maker for the Girl who adores ice cream.
Don’t buy her something that you would like to receive. For example: A Hammock, or a lawn mower.
Don’t give her exercise equipment, unless she specifically asked for it.
Along the same lines as the exercise equipment, Don’t give her a gym membership. She will think you are telling her she is fat.
Don’t buy her a shot gun, hoping she will want to go hunting with you. She may end up shooting you with it.
Don’t tell her to just go out and get her own gift.
Don’t keep telling her how much you spent on the gift, it will make her feel like she isn’t worth it.
